How to read this

Days-to-maturity counts from transplant for crops that are typically transplanted (tomato, pepper, broccoli, cabbage), and from direct sow for crops typically direct-sown (beans, carrots, radish, lettuce, peas).

The range reflects variety differences plus weather variation. Cool springs delay maturity. Hot summers can either accelerate or stress crops depending on the species.

The "how to tell when it's ready" cues matter more than the calendar - your tomatoes are ripe when they're red and slightly soft, not because the calendar says so. Use the dates as a guide, the cues as the trigger.
