Launching outdoor plant care, finally
After three years running IndoorPlantCare.com for houseplants, the outdoor companion site is finally live. The launch inventory:
- - **395 long-form guides** covering plants, vegetables, lawn, common problems, gear buyer guides, and regional care
- - **25 interactive tools and calculators** — zone finder, frost dates, sunlight finder, pollinator filter, plant quiz, diagnose tool, companion planting matrix, mulch/compost/fertilizer/raised-bed calculators, harvest and pruning calendars, garden journal, leaf ID key, what's blooming now, problem photo gallery
- - **50 state planting calendars** + **500 crop-by-state pages** (10 crops × 50 states)
- - **40 printable PDF cheat sheets** for the most-asked plants
- - **30-day onboarding email sequence** + **12 monthly seasonal updates** ("This week in the garden")
- - **170+ hero photos**, every one credited to the Unsplash photographer
The editorial standards are the same as on IndoorPlantCare. First-person voice only where I actually grow the plant. Every factual claim cites a primary source — Cornell, Penn State, NC State, Missouri Botanical Garden, Clemson HGIC, UMN Extension, USDA, Xerces Society. Zero AI-generated filler. No paid placements. No sponsored content. No "in today's fast-paced world" intros.
This page (/blog/) is where I'll post short timestamped notes from the actual garden — what's blooming, what failed, what surprised me. The core guides are the reference; these are the field log.
If you found the site useful, the newsletter ships one honest gardening email a day for 30 days from the moment you sign up, then a monthly seasonal update from there. No spam, no upsell, unsubscribe any time.
Welcome.
